What is the best and the worst part of being a Consultant?
Feelings and emotions can come into play when working as a Consultant. One of the best parts is seeing your advice being executed and knowing that it’s impactful to the clients. You feel proud, accomplished and that you can truly make a difference. Occasionally, when competing and losing to your competitors, a lot of time it is the Big 4s or some global house, the feeling at this time was probably one of the worst parts.
What personality traits make a good leader?
A good leader must see the big picture of anything the company does. Once the big picture is obvious, the success will rely on proper executions. Communication will become a more important trait and how you can effectively bridge the flow of data, information, tactics and strategy from top to bottom (and vice versa) will be very critical in anything you do or are trying to do.
How do you think attitudes towards remote working will change post COVID-19?
Attitudes in meetings will likely change post COVID-19. Online meetings are somewhat replacing the traditional method of face-to-face interaction. Though many think it helps save cost and time in travelling, I have no reasons not to believe that face-to-face meetings are still vital for effective communications, going forward, at least in the next 10 years (before technology can make your friends sit and drink with you from different locations, then we will evaluate that again).
What does 'now, for tomorrow' mean to you?
It is obvious, what we do now affects what is going to happen tomorrow.
What are your plans for the future?
With the ongoing pandemic, it can be challenging to make plans. Although the situation in Thailand has become a lot better, most companies have reopened their offices, we do know that the future is unclear. The key question is how we prepare the flexibility of our working platform for the uncertain future. Various ideas were discussed. It will be interesting to see when these preparations come into effect, because it will change the way we look and do things in a more sustainable way.
