Special Tax Measures

Corporate Tax Measures due to COVID-19

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, some significant tax relief measures
have been issued and summarized below.

1) Tax Compliance
Thailand Tax Ministerial Notification (No.2) 2563 was issued on 31 March 2020, extending the due date for submission annual corporate tax return for 2019 and mid-year corporate tax for 2020 for non-listed companies, VAT and Withholding tax returns.


Filing extension of mid-year and annual corporate income tax ("CIT") and Transfer Pricing disclosure

Filing extension of valued added tax ("VAT") and other tax returns

  1. 2) Reduction of domestic withholding tax rates

    Thailand Tax Ministerial Regulation No. 361 (2563) gazetted on 30 March 2020 details reduction in domestic withholding taxes.
    The withholding tax ("WHT") rate will be reduced from 3% to 1.5% for
    domestic payments of certain type of assessable income from 1 April 2020 to 30 September 2020, and to 2% for the payments from 1 October 2020 to 31 December 2021. However, the 2% rate will be only applied for the epayments and e-withholding tax from 1 October 2020 to 31 December 2021.

The reduced rate shall be applied only normal 3% WHT rate, for the other WHT rates are not under Ministerial Regulation No. 361 (2563).
